What is in Your Water

When I started learning more about what is in our water supply and what could be found in our water supply, I made sure to start using a water filtration system as soon as possible. There are now countless news stories in regards to cities and counties that are found to have contaminants in their water.

Just recently, news sources say that in Newburgh, NY, along the Hudson River, their tap water is exposing residents to a chemical linked to cancer. This chemical, perfluorooctane sulfite, has been linked to cancer along with thyroid problems and other major health issues.

Flint, Michigan has been in the news in regards to their drinking water being contaminated with lead, which created a serious public health danger. Their drinking water was treated improperly and caused lead from aging pipes to seep into their water supply which can cause heavy metal neurotoxin. This can lead to serious health problems such as elevated blood-lead levels and Legionnaires’ disease.

National Geographic has said that “In developing countries, 70 percent of industrial wastes are dumped untreated into waters, polluting the usable water supply” and “On average, 99 million pounds (45 million kilograms) of fertilizers and chemicals are used each year”.

These types of stories seem to be in the news all of the time and based on this information we should all be concerned about the water that we are using to put into our bodies and do everything that we can to find a good source of clean water for our families.

There are many water filtration systems on the market that you can use and NuManna has some of the best filters available.
